BE A BEE PAVILLION
FLORIADE 2012
Today was the official opening of the Be a Bee Pavillion at the Floriade in Venlo (NL). In the pavillion the visitor leterally turns into a bee and has to collect nectar or pollen. On its way the visitor learns about the life of a bee.
The pavillion was designed by Meier+Moor architecture and design and I worked with Studio Kernland and Werkmannen on the exhibition in and around the pavillion.

BENTO BOX
Product design for REcentre, in collaboration with Studio Kernland
I was invited by REcentre to join a design competition. The assignment was to design a durable Bento Box (Japanese lunch box). My solution was to use plastic based on 100% biological components. For the aesthetics of the box I refered to home canning using a Weck jar.

MODERNE ZEITEN LEIPZIG
OPENING
Exhibition design made by Studio Kernland
Museum about the newer history of Leipzig from 1848 up until today. A central hallway stretching through the entire space, functions as the time axis. On one side the history of the city is presented chronologically, here selective, representative objects are placed in a theater like setting. On the other side of the hall the possible identities of Leipzig are explored: Leipzig as city of music, city of sports, city of books and city of fairs. Opening December 11th 2011 (101 years after de first time opening of the Museum, which had been destroyed during WWII in 1943).

MODEL CITIZENS NYC
From 13 till 15 May I will join Model Citizens NYC during the New York Design Week.
The third annual Model Citizens NYC, May 2011 is a 3 day exhibition, open to the public, featuring the work of 50+ designers of furniture, products, ceramics, glass, art objects and jewelry.
The exhibition will take place at the Chelsea Art Museum. You are all welcome to come take a look!
